David Jones

David Jones is global CEO of Havas Worldwide, the parent company of Euro RSCG Worldwide PR. He runs all creative, marketing and design companies throughout the network of 300-plus offices. Appointed to the post in 2005 at age 38, Jones has overseen a period of impressive growth. He is also co-founder of One Young World, a nonprofit organization that gives people age 25 and younger a voice on critical global issues. Jones led Kofi Annan’s Tck Tck Tck campaign on climate justice and works with David Cameron and the Conservative party in the U.K.

 

Marian Salzman

Marian Salzman is president of Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, North America, and a member of the Euro RSCG Executive Committee with brand reputation oversight for the company and key executives globally.

Salzman was formerly a partner and chief marketing officer and member of the Worldwide Executive Committee at Porter Novelli, where she drove brand planning and positioning, oversaw all brand communication and business development, and created and executed thought leadership, reputation management and social media programs.

Named one of the world’s top five trendspotters by global publisher VNU, Salzman has lived and worked in the U.S. and Europe. She has managed trendspotters around the globe for more than 15 years, with strong expertise in one-to-one persuasion, family dynamics and influence, the new consumer in China and India, narrowcasting and emerging niches. Prior to joining Porter Novelli, she served as CMO at JWT Worldwide, chief strategy officer at Euro RSCG Worldwide and worldwide director of TBWA’s Department of the Future. She was director of consumer insights and emerging media at Chiat\Day and co-founded Cyberdialogue—the world’s first online market research company—in 1992 with partner Jay Chiat.

Salzman contributes regular trends columns to Forbes.com’s CMO Network and CNBC.com. She also regularly writes trends and insights columns for Adweek (U.S.) and Marketing Week (U.K.). She has blogged at pnintelligentdialogue.com.

Salzman sits on the board of directors of the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which works to assist injured U.S. service members returning from war. She is an adviser to the Berlin School of Creative Leadership’s M.B.A. program and a member of the mentoring board of Brown University’s Women in Business (Salzman graduated from Brown with top honors and studied sociology at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences). She is the author or co-author of 15 books on topics ranging from current affairs to the youth market to the commercial workplace. Most recent are Next Now: Trends for the Future (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006) and The Future of Men: The Rise of the Ubersexual and What He Means for Marketing Today (Palgrave Macmillan, 2005).


Angie Argabrite is an online editor and writer who has joined Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, North America, as an editorial consultant. She was features editor at Moviefone and AOL Television for five years and staff editor for Entertainment Weekly’s website, EW.com, for several years before that. As contributing editor at Global City Press, she put together Girls: An Anthology, with essays and stories about and by young women.
 

Kevin Bannon has more than eight years of experience with U.S. and global health-care communications in the areas of gastroenterology, oncology, migraine and diabetes. He is now an associate vice president at Euro RSCG Worldwide PR.

Prior to joining Euro RSCG as an account supervisor on the Lantus and Apidra business for sanofi-aventis, Bannon provided strategic support to a range of brands and clients, including Novartis Pharmaceuticals’ Zelnorm, Genentech’s Avastin, GlaxoSmithKline’s Avandia, Genzyme’s Leukine and Campath, and Bayer Schering Pharma’s full global oncology franchise.

Bannon’s account experience has primarily focused on consumer health campaigns, clinical data publicity, celebrity-driven awareness initiatives and brand promotion. He has provided client counsel, media relations services and materials development, in addition to managing key opinion leader, patient and celebrity spokesperson networks and serving as a third-party liaison in support of his clients and brands.

 


DeAnne Bradley
 joined Euro RSCG Life in June as a public relations intern for Summer 2010. In the fall, she will be entering her final year at Howard University in Washington, D.C., pursuing a degree in journalism with a concentration in public relations and a minor in sports administration.

 
Bradley brings a wealth of knowledge to Euro RSCG PR’s team, with an array of experience ranging from public relations at a record label and special events production for a major television network to cultural and political affairs. She is currently working on the Kmart/Sears account and is assisting with the Sisterhood blog, along with several other team projects, while using social media as a strategic platform for consumer outreach.

 

Ana Cano

Ana Cano delivers public relations strategies for marquee clients in the consumer and B2B space. As a senior vice president for Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, she currently oversees planning of consumer, digital and corporate programs on behalf of Sears Holdings Corp., ServiceLive.com and Dun & Bradstreet.

Her extensive experience includes leading programs for divisions of Yahoo!, JVC and Washington.Post.Newsweek.Interactive, the online publishing subsidiary of The Washington Post.

Cano was previously with Fleishman-Hillard. In her eight years with that agency, she provided senior communications counsel for a variety of clients, including enterprise solutions for divisions of Visa; consumer marketing initiatives for Hasbro Games; and media relations for leading software game developers such as id Software and Ensemble Studios, plus technology leaders Sony, Dell, Nortel and Microsoft.


Colleen Cleary
 has more than eight years of marketing and communications experience in the retail, fashion, home décor and toy sectors. She holds deep media relationships spanning print, broadcast and digital media outlets. Currently managing seasonal and apparel programs for Sears and Kmart at Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, Cleary previously worked with major brands including Target and Toys “R” Us. She is a graduate of Villanova University Business School with a B.S. in marketing. 

Alexandra Covington

A native Chicagoan, Alexandra Covington began working for Euro RSCG Worldwide PR as a marketing associate in October 2009. Since joining the team, she has been working to extend Euro PR’s social media expertise by establishing and managing a corporate presence across various channels to help build on the Euro brand.

Covington graduated with a degree in communications studies and a minor in business from Northwestern University. She has also served as the campus brand representative for Macy’s American Rag, a position in which she gained experience in fashion retail and WOM marketing; Covington ran both the guerrilla PR strategy and events on her school’s campus.

 


After eight years with Euro RSCG in Australia, New York and China—most recently as Euro RSCG’s chief strategic officer for Asia Pacific—Matt Donovan is back in New York again, this time as CSO for Euro RSCG Worldwide PR. In that role, he heads digital and PR strategy for North America and is IBM global digital strategy lead. Donovan has worked in tech, travel, media, auto, CPG and sports, apparel, alcohol, food and beverage, pharma, cause and government. Experience includes Dell, Schering-Plough, Monster, AOL, Reckitt Benckiser (a dozen brands including Clearasil and French’s), Nike, Gatorade, Pernod Ricard (Chivas, Jacob’s Creek), Jaguar and sanofi-aventis (Lantus, Lovenox). He has held director positions in brand consulting, integrated, advertising, digital and direct-response disciplines. Donovan was one of the metrosexual spotters and co-founded FCBi Australia and Euro RSCG Leap NY.

 

Susan English is a senior vice president for Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, where she delivers results-driven programs covering broad marketing disciplines to meet her clients’ business goals. She currently leads strong teams that consistently deliver high-quality, award-winning campaigns for the agency’s Transitions Optical and PPG Optical Materials clients. She has also contributed to programs for industry leaders Carrier Corp., Bayer Corp., Heinz U.S.A. and American Eagle Outfitters.

English plays a vital role in strategic counsel and planning and has helped clients initiate successful programs in new areas such as managed care, clinical research, education, corporate giving, multicultural marketing and social media. In 2008, she was named PR Practitioner of the Year by the Pittsburgh chapter of the Business Marketing Association.

Before joining Euro RSCG PR, English worked as a broadcast journalist in five newsrooms across Texas. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in journalism.

 

Chris Frates is an account supervisor at Euro RSCG Life MetaMax. His focus areas include pharmaceutical brand marketing, crisis management, advocacy relations, internal communications and thought-leader engagement. Key clients have included sanofi-aventis, Eli Lilly, Boehringer Ingelheim, Savient Pharmaceuticals, Vertex Pharmaceuticals and the Gout & Uric Acid Education Society. Frates is a graduate of New York University. He joined Euro RSCG in 2003.


Brian Goldberg joined the Euro RSCG Worldwide Global Communications team in April 2010. He has been tasked with spreading the word about Euro RSCG’s thought leaders and brand expertise through strong media relations.  
 
Before arriving at Euro RSCG, Goldberg learned the ropes at Rubenstein Communications, where he worked with a variety of luxury, lifestyle, corporate and entertainment clients. He graduated from Muhlenberg College with a major in political science, with concentrations in public administration and constitutional law. 

 

Ella Greenstein is a rising senior at the University of Rochester, where she majors in religion and minors in music. She is interning in the PR department at Euro RSCG in summer 2010. In her spare time, Ella can be seen roaming the globe in search of culture and adventure. She will be studying abroad in the fall at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam in the land of wooden clogs.  

 

Jeff Jones is an account executive at Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, where he provides strategic support to clients with a focus on research and developing education and creative materials that heighten brand awareness through multiple avenues. Jeff was a researcher at a Pittsburgh-based law firm and before that covered nonprofit management trends as a senior writer at The NonProfit Times in northern New Jersey. He started his career as a reporter for a daily newspaper outside Pittsburgh. Jones earned a B.A. in journalism and mass communication at Point Park University and a master’s of library and information science from the University of Pittsburgh.

 

Mary Kate Joyce is the Summer 2010 social media intern at Euro RSCG Worldwide PR in Pittsburgh. A senior at Boston University’s College of Communication, Joyce is interested in all things entertainment and media. She plans to pursue a career in entertainment PR or publicity when she graduates in May 2011. Joyce currently serves as the president of the Boston University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America.  
 
Joyce spent her junior year of college studying abroad and interning at PR firms in Dublin and Sydney. Her most memorable learning experiences arose while backpacking through Europe, Thailand and Australia. During the past three years, Joyce has held internships with Edelman PR, Elevate PR, Jillian’s Boston and the KMA Group; she has also worked for various promotions companies in Boston. 
 

 

Leah Linder joined the Euro RSCG Worldwide PR consumer team in April 2010. Working with the Sears and Kmart account, she has helped drive initiatives for Design on a Dime, the Jaclyn Smith collection, Father’s Day and Sears Hometown Stores, among others.  
 
Before joining Euro, Linder was the publicist for a New York City–based candy retailer, where she worked on partnerships with Sony Pictures, Hasbro and Mattel.  
 
Linder graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with a major in journalism and minors in Spanish and history. She was an arts and features writer for the Indiana Daily Student and itsWeekend magazine and a contributing reporter to Billboard.com. Linder also hosted her own weekly radio show on WIUX-FM called “Short Circuit 7.” She maintains that the radio show was the closest she will ever come to being a local celebrity.

 

Romey Louangvilay

As Euro RSCG Worldwide PR’s Digital Bureau account executive, Romey Louangvilay supports the efforts of the Digital News Bureau team and Sears Holdings’ Online Business Unit on all digital and social media initiatives. His primary responsibilities include planning and implementing social media initiatives to increase clients’ online social media equity and assist with traditional media outreach. In addition, Louangvilay is an active member in Fashion 2.0—an online fashion community that consists of published stylists, runway project managers, agents and fashion editors—and a member of the Asian American Journalists Association. 

Prior to Euro PR, Louangvilay worked at Ogilvy PR, gaining an extensive background in social and trade media that enabled him to launch a digital content syndication program for InterContinental Hotels Group. Louangvilay also provided a major support role in the PR efforts for Sunglass Hut’s “Re-Styled” campaign and Marshalls’ “Shoe MegaShop” campaign.

 

Katie McSorley

Katie McSorley, throughout her years in public relations, has championed applying a strategic integrated communications process to the development of creative programming. She is energized by the process and the award-winning campaigns that result from it. McSorley has worked for such blue-chip companies as Transitions Optical, Bayer MaterialScience, PPG Industries, the International Playground Equipment Manufacturers, Wexford Health Sources, Heinz, Nestlé, Jenny Craig, Johnson & Johnson, Alcoa and GNC.

Today, McSorley, an executive vice president, leads Euro PR’s business-to-business practice and the Pittsburgh office. Her work encompasses developing campaigns for new product launches, brand marketing, executive leadership, employee communications, issues management, corporate social responsibility and special corporate initiatives.

Away from work, McSorley has served on the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute Advisory Council, developing local education outreach on cancer prevention. She has also been involved with the American Heart Association, the Arthritis Foundation and Parental Stress Center.

 

Angela Braun Mineo

Angela Braun Mineo joined the Euro RSCG Worldwide PR team in July 2007. As an account executive, she is responsible for the business-to-business accounts of Transitions Optical and PPG Trivex lens material. Her responsibilities include contributing to the development of client marketing campaigns and materials, such as websites, trade publication articles, educational events and industry research. Since 2008, Angela has headed the Pittsburgh office’s internship program, responsible for interviewing, hiring and supervising several interns throughout the year.

She is also the Web chair for PRSA Pittsburgh and uses her photography skills to provide imagery for PRSA Pittsburgh’s website and other marketing materials.

Before joining Euro PR, Angela wrote and produced television news as an associate producer at WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh. She earned her master’s degree in broadcast journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Angela completed a B.S. at the University of Pittsburgh with a double major in communication and psychology, and a Certificate in Western European studies.

 

Melissa Rieger

Melissa Rieger joined the Pittsburgh team of Euro RSCG Worldwide PR in 2006. Working primarily on the Transitions Optical account, she has helped to grow several key initiatives, including managed vision care, multicultural, retail and media relations.  

Before joining Euro, Rieger worked as an on-air television news reporter for Fox 8 and ABC 23 News out of Johnstown, Pa., where she served as the Blair County chief bureau reporter. Some of her favorite interviews include Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, former Vice President Dick Cheney, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell and “Jungle Jack” Hanna. 

Rieger graduated from the Pennsylvania State University with duel bachelor’s degrees in advertising/public relations and English, with a special emphasis on creative writing. She served as president of the Penn State Advertising Club and was involved with the American Advertising Federation and the Public Relations Society of America. 

 

Ashley Rindsberg

Ashley Rindsberg is a writer and researcher who writes for magazines and blogs such as the Huffington Post, the Daily Beast and YNet. Ashley has been a guest on G. Gordon Liddy’s radio show and has been featured on such blogs as Foreign Policy’s Passport and InstaPundit for his research and reporting. Ashley also contributes to a number of books, most recently with Claire Shipman and Katty Kay’s New York Times bestseller, Womenomics.

 

Gabrielle Schaefer

Gabrielle Schaefer is a Newsengine associate at Euro RSCG Worldwide PR, North America. Her role focuses on research and planning, media and industry monitoring, and traditional and social media outreach for clients. After graduating from Boston University’s College of Communications with a degree in advertising, Gabrielle interned at Sydney advertising agency SMART, working on campaigns for Coca-Cola, Nutella, Kinder Chocolate, Pump Water and the Australian national government.

She was also an account executive for BU’s agency Adlab, where she implemented social media tactics for her client, Plus1TV. In addition, she interned at California public relations agency Idea Hall in the media relations department, working with corporate real estate, philanthropy and green architecture clients.

 

Lesley Sillaman

Lesley Sillaman is an associate vice president at Euro RSCG Worldwide PR in Pittsburgh, where she works on a variety of clients, including IPEMA, Bayer MaterialScience, BayOne and Transitions SOLFX. In addition to providing strategic communications support, event planning, writing and media relations, Sillaman has an interest in public affairs and current events. Before her four-year tenure at Euro, she worked for seven years in political communications, serving as a press secretary, director of communications and communications adviser to political candidates and parties. 

A voracious consumer of news media, Lesley spends her free time with her husband and daughter, running, reading and watching sports and CNN. Lesley has a B.A. in communications from the University of Dayton and an M.A. in communications from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania. 

 

Lisa Vanella

Lisa Vanella has been in the public relations industry for more than 22 years and has been part of the Euro team, where she is now Newsengine lead, since March 2006. Vanella’s primary concentration has been health care and pharmaceuticals, representing companies from Merck and Pfizer to 3M and Johnson & Johnson. She also has a wealth of experience in fitness, sports, product and consumer marketing/PR for clients including Cytodyne, ConAgra, the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Spalding and others.

Vanella is a seasoned writer and creative marketing strategist. She enjoys discovering exciting and newsworthy ideas for clients, but one of her favorite aspects of the business is media placement, having developed numerous contacts with editors and reporters at local, regional and national print and broadcast outlets. She is a graduate of St. John’s University. 

 

Ellen Wein

Ellen Wein is a vice president in Euro PR’s Pittsburgh office. She manages the Gout & Uric Acid Education Society account and works on the IPEMA, Wexford Health Sources and Bayer MaterialScience account teams. Wein has more than 20 years of experience in strategic planning, program development, account management, tactical execution and program evaluation. A generalist and a quick study, she has the proven track record and deep insights of a specialist in media relations, writing, special events and integrated marketing communications. Her accomplishments have been recognized nationally by her peers, including awards from PRWeek and the PRSA Silver Anvils.

Wein graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a B.A. in journalism. She is active in UW’s alumni club in Pittsburgh, writes recreationally and has two teenage daughters who keep her on the cutting edge of just about everything.
